Sign PDFs with a simple drawn signature or a legally binding cryptographic Digital ID, and verify signatures already in a document.

Creating a signature​

  • Draw with finger, stylus, or mouse, with adjustable pen thickness and color.
  • Upload a signature image (PNG with transparency recommended); whitespace is auto-cropped.
  • Type your name and render it in signature-style fonts.

Saved signatures can be reused across documents and are stored locally (not synced, for security).

Digital ID signing (DSC)​

Sign cryptographically with a personal certificate so the signature can be verified and any later tampering detected. Everything happens in one Sign with a Digital ID dialog that lists your Digital IDs and hosts the add flow inline.

Set up a Digital ID​

Choose Add a Digital ID, then either:

  • Import from a file — pick a .p12 / .pfx file and enter its password. The certificate is validated and added to your Digital IDs.
  • Create a self-signed ID — enter your name, email, organization, and key algorithm (2048/4096-bit RSA or 256-bit ECDSA).

On macOS, signing identities from the login Keychain are listed automatically (tagged "Keychain") — no import needed.

Sign a signature field​

  1. Open a PDF with a signature field. The signature panel lists unsigned signature fields.
  2. Use Go to Signature to jump to the field, then Sign.
  3. In the Sign with a Digital ID dialog, pick an ID (or add one).
  4. Confirm. The signed document is saved as a new copy — the original is never overwritten (repeated signing produces …_signed.pdf, …_signed (1).pdf, and so on).
  5. A confirmation offers to open the signed PDF.

Signing requires a file-based PDF, so in-memory documents must be saved first. Expired Digital IDs are shown but can't be selected.

Verifying signatures​

  • View existing signatures in a document, with signer name, date, and trust status.
  • A certificate viewer shows the full certificate chain.
  • Invalid or tampered signatures are flagged.

Availability​

Available on all platforms. Digital ID features require access to the .p12/.pfx file. Creating self-signed IDs, importing certificates, and signing are supported on Android, iOS, and desktop.
