Opening & Multi-Document
There are several ways to open documents, and you can keep more than one open at a time.
Opening documents​
On desktop, you can:
- Drag and drop a file anywhere onto the app window to open it in a new tab. Dropping several files at once opens each in its own tab, and a highlight overlay confirms the drop will be accepted.
- Use Open With from Finder/Explorer, double-click an associated file, or pass a path on the command line.
PDFs, images, and eBook formats are each routed to the matching viewer. Opening a file that's already open just switches to its existing tab.
DesktopMultiple documents​
When more than one file is open, a Files switcher appears:
- Mobile: a Files button (with a badge showing the count) opens a drawer to switch between or close open documents.
- Desktop: documents appear as tabs; keyboard shortcuts jump between them (Ctrl/Cmd + Tab, Ctrl/Cmd + 1–9).
