Annotations & Markup Free

Mark up PDFs with a full set of tools. Basic markup (highlight, freehand) is free; richer inserts and file attachments are Pro. Annotations are saved as standard PDF annotations, so they open in other readers too.

Enter edit mode from the Edit tab (mobile) or the annotation category tabs in the toolbar (desktop). Tools are grouped into categories.

Text markup

• Highlight, underline, strikethrough, and squiggly underline.
• Apply directly from the text selection popup or the markup tools.
• Tap a markup to change its color or delete it.

Insert

The Insert tools add content to a page. Each has its own detailed guide:

• Image — place an image, then adjust rotation and opacity.
• Stamp — built-in or custom image stamps.
• Watermark — text or image watermark across pages.
• Page Number — add page numbering.
• File Attachment Pro — attach a file to a page.
• Signature — see Digital Signing.

Permanently remove sensitive content from a selection.

Color picker

The color picker supports HEX/RGB input, a preset palette, recent colors, and an opacity slider. It's used across annotation tools, page background, and settings.

Managing annotations

• The annotations list shows everything by type or page — tap to jump to one.
• Selected annotations are outlined on the page; multi-line highlights are outlined line by line.
• Undo/redo is available for all edits.
• Tap outside a selected annotation to deselect it.
