OCR

Extract selectable text from a scanned page. The scanner uses the same on-device overlay OCR screen as the PDF viewer.

Mobile

How it works

• Recognized text is positioned (and rotated to match) on top of the page image, each line lightly highlighted.
• Long-press to select and copy text, or copy the whole page from the toolbar.
• Runs on-device — ML Kit on Android, Vision on iOS.

This is shared with the viewer's Recognise Text action. On-device OCR is not available on desktop yet.
